BRC Global Standard - Food

Overview of Scheme
The BRC Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 5 is applicable for any supplier, regardless of produce or country of origin, and sets the standard for food manufacturing plants.
The purpose of BRC - Food certification audit is to verify that the company has an established system, the personnel involved with the systems and the procedures for on-site activities are capable of complying with the BRC Global Standard – Food (Issue 5) consistently and that non-complying product or service is not released with a BRC certification mark or any other reference to ISC certification.
To comply with BRC Global Standard for Food Safety, the food suppliers and manufacturer must adopt three main criteria in their management systems:
· Adoption and implementation of HACCP
· Documented and effective quality management system
· Control of factory environment standards, products, processes and personnel
